I definitely agree that family doesn't just mean "by blood." Two of my cousins are adopted but you wouldn't know it because of how much we love them. Also, my brother's best friend isn't just his friend; I consider him to be my other brother and everyone in my family is happy to see him should he ever join us for a family dinner or gathering. I definitely believe that friends are the family that God forgot to give us :)
I couldn't agree more with Sarah's comments; so many of our friends over the years have been more like family to us than some of the blood family we do have.
Funny how we're born into families but often remain on the outside, looking in. Friends, somehow, are always there for us, no matter what.
